Solicitor

David Longly Bernhardt serves as Solicitor of the Department of the Interior. Mr. Bernhardt previously served as Deputy Solicitor of the Department of the Interior. He also served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor to the Secretary at the Department, as well as Counselor to the Secretary and Director of Congressional and Legislative Affairs. Prior to joining the Administration, Mr. Bernhardt was an Associate with Brownstein Hyatt & Farber, P.C. Earlier in his career, he served as Legal Counsel and Rules Committee Associate for Congressman Scott McInnis. Mr. Bernhardt received his bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his JD from The George Washington University.
