OMB Director Daniels Praises Senate For Passing Supplemental Spending Bill

WHAT:

Washington, DC, July20, 2001 -- Office of Management and Budget Director Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. today issued the following statement regarding the Senates passage of the FY 2001 Supplemental Appropriations Bill Conference Report:

Passage in the Senate of the supplemental spending bill is good news for all Americans and especially for our men and women in the military. The Administration commends Senators Daschle and Byrd for making this a priority and for passing it within hours of approval in the House. It is especially encouraging that the measure was considered in an orderly fashion and was approved without any unnecessary spending.
