Director Daniels Praises House Appropriations Committee
on Passage of FY 2001 Supplemental
Washington, DC, June 20, 2001 -- Office of Management and Budget Director
Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. today released the following statement regarding the House passage of
the FY 2001 Supplemental Appropriations Bill:
"Chairman Young and his committee served the nation well today. Their prompt action
will sustain an underfunded Department of Defense for the balance of this year, while containing
total spending within the FY 2001 budget limits. It’s a step toward restoring order in the nation’s
fiscal house, and toward closer cooperation between the executive and legislative branches."
