H.R. 3801 - Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002
(Rep. Castle (R) DE and 6 cosponsors)

The Administration supports House passage of H.R. 3801, the Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002, which would reauthorize and strengthen the principal education research, statistics, and evaluation activities of the Department of Education (ED). The Administration looks forward to continuing to work with Congress to perfect this bill further and enact legislation that will promote a strong, scientifically rigorous research capacity within ED, as such legislation is critically important to the successful implementation of the education reforms recently made by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and, more generally, to transforming education into an "evidence-based" field.
