Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual, designate two individuals and appoint five individuals to serve in his Administration.
The President intends to nominate Gineen Bresso Beach, of New York, to be a Commissioner of the Election Assistance Commission. Ms. Beach currently serves as Director of Legislative Operations & Counsel for the Committee on House Administration in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to this, she served as a Policy Advisor in the Office of Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Earlier in her career, she served as an Attorney-Advisor in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Beach received her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and her JD from the Western New England College School of Law.
The President intends to designate Cheryl Ann Oldham, of Texas, to be Acting Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education at the Department of Education.
The President intends to designate the following individual:
Katharine Lee Reid, of North Carolina, to be Chairman of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee.
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee, for the remainder of three-year terms expiring 04/25/11:
Eileen Johnson, of Texas, (Anthropology)
Robert C. O'Brien, of California, (Public)
James Wright Willis, of California, (International Sales Expert)
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, for additional two-year terms expiring 05/14/10:
Michael Lewis Cromartie, of Virginia, vice Reappointment;
Leonard A. Leo, of Virginia, vice Reappointment.
