Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced that he has named two individuals to serve in his Administration.

The President has named Thomas P. Bossert to be Deputy Assistant to the President for Homeland Security. Mr. Bossert recently served as Special Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Senior Director for Preparedness Policy. Prior to this, he served as Director of Infrastructure Policy on the Homeland Security Council staff. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Director in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the Emergency Preparedness and Response Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Bossert received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his JD from the George Washington University School of Law.

The President has named Pete Patterson to be Associate Counsel to the President. Mr. Patterson recently served as Deputy Associate Counsel in the Office of the Counsel to the President. He received his bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University and his JD from Stanford Law School.
