Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals to serve in his Administration.

The President intends to nominate Bartholomew H. Chilton, of Delaware, to be a Commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for a five-year term beginning 04/14/08. Mr. Chilton currently serves as a Commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Prior to this, he served as Chief of Staff and Vice President for Government Relations at the National Farmers Union. Earlier in his career, he served as Executive Assistant to the Board at the United States Farm Credit Administration.

The President intends to nominate Scott O'Malia, of Michigan, to serve as a Commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for the remainder of a five-year term expiring 04/13/12. Mr. O'Malia currently serves as a Clerk on the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development on the Senate Appropriations Committee. Prior to this, he served as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Federal Legislative Affairs at Mirant Corporation. Mr. O'Malia received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
