Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and designate one individual to serve in his Administration.

The President intends to nominate Kameran L. Onley, of Washington, to be Assistant Secretary of the Interior (Water and Science). Ms. Onley currently serves as Assistant Deputy Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Secretary at the Department of the Interior. Prior to this, she served as Associate Director for Environmental Policy at the Council on Environmental Quality. Earlier in her career, she served as Special Assistant to the Chairman at the Council on Environmental Quality. Ms. Onley received her bachelor's degree from Seattle University and her master's degree from Clemson University.

The President intends to nominate A. Ellen Terpstra, of New York, to be Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the Office of the United States Trade Representative, with the Rank of Ambassador. Ms. Terpstra currently serves as Deputy Under Secretary of Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services at the Department of Agriculture. Prior to this, she served as Administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service at the Department of Agriculture. Earlier in her career, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer for USA Rice Federation. Ms. Terpstra received her bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.

The President intends to designate William E. Kovacic, of Virginia, to be Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission.
