President George W. Bush has nominated two individuals and announced his intention to designate one individual to serve in his Administration.
The President has nominated Paul J. Hutter, of Virginia, to be General Counsel at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Hutter currently serves as Executive in Charge of General Counsel and Executive in Charge of Human Resources and Administration at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Prior to this, he served as Acting Assistant Secretary in the Office of Policy, Planning and Preparedness at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Operations Officer of the Interagency Transition Planning Team. Mr. Hutter received his bachelor's degree from Rice University and his master's degree from Pepperdine University. He received his JD from the University of Santa Clara Law School and his LLM from the Army Judge Advocate General's School.
The President has nominated Thomas M. Beck, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority and upon appointment, designate Chair, for a five-year term expiring 07/29/12. Mr. Beck currently serves as a Partner at Jones Day. Prior to this, he served as an Associate at Jones Day. Mr. Beck received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
