Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his Administration:
The President intends to nominate Mark P. Lagon, of Virginia, to be Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking with the rank of Ambassador at Large at the Department of State. Dr. Lagon currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs. Prior to this, he served as a Member of the Secretary of State's Policy Planning Staff. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Staff Member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Dr. Lagon received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University and his PhD from Georgetown University.
