President George W. Bush announced today that he has named two individuals to serve in his Administration:

The President has named Maggie Grant to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Ms. Grant recently served as Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs. Prior to this, she served as Executive Director of the Council of Great Lakes Governors. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Governor Jim Edgar's (IL) Campaign Committee and Assistant Director of Media Affairs at the White House during President George H.W. Bush’s administration. She also previously served in the Special Projects Division of ABC News. Ms. Grant received her bachelor’s degree from George Washington University.

The President has named Paul R. Eckert to be Associate Counsel to the President. Mr. Eckert previously served as a Partner in the Securities Enforcement Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP. He received his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and his JD from the William & Mary School of Law.
