President George W. Bush announced today that he has named four individuals to serve in his Administration:
The President has named Scott Stanzel to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Press Secretary. Mr. Stanzel recently served as Senior Product Manager of the Security Technology Unit at Microsoft Corporation. Prior to this, he served as Press Secretary of the Bush-Cheney 2004 re-election campaign. Earlier in his career, he served as a Spokesman in the Office of Media Affairs at the White House and as Assistant Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley. Mr. Stanzel received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University.
The President has named Alan Swendiman to be Special Assistant to the President and Director, Office of Administration. Mr. Swendiman previously served as General Counsel of the General Services Administration. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
The President has named Christopher G. Oprison to be Associate Counsel to the President. Mr. Oprison previously served as a Senior Litigation Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP and as a Marine Corps prosecutor. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and his JD from George Washington University.
The President has named Cheryl Stanton to be Associate Counsel to the President. Ms. Stanton previously served as a Shareholder at Olgetree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. She received her bachelor's degree from Williams College and her JD from the University of Chicago.
