President Bush Signs H.R. 1036, H.R. 1442, H.R. 5074, H.R. 5187, and H.R. 5574

On Friday, October 6, 2006, the President signed into law:

H.R. 1036, the "Copyright Royalty Judges Program Technical Corrections Act," which amends the Copyright Royalty and Distribution Reform Act of 2004 to clarify roles and responsibilities of Copyright Royalty Judges.

H.R. 1442, which completes codification of title 46, United States Code, the shipping laws of the United States.

H.R. 5074, the "Railroad Retirement Technical Improvement Act of 2006," which designates the Department of the Treasury to act as the permanent disbursing agent for benefits payable under the Railroad Retirement Act.

H.R. 5187, which increases the FY 2007 authorizations of appropriations to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for maintenance, repair, and security and for capital projects.

H.R. 5574, the "Children's Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act of 2006," which authorizes appropriations for payments to children's hospitals' graduate medical education residency programs.
