President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and appoint two individuals to serve in his Administration:
The President intends to nominate Frank Baxter, of California, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. Most recently, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jeffries and Company, an investment banking firm. Previously in his career, he served as a Director of the Securities Industry Association and also as a Director of the National Association of Securities Dealers. Mr. Baxter received his bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars:
Joseph B. Gildenhorn, of the District of Columbia, for an additional six year term beginning October 24, 2006 and upon appointment, redesignate Chairman.
Susan Hutchison, of Washington, for a six year term beginning October 24, 2006.
