Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate three individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Richard W. Graber, of Wisconsin, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Czech Republic. Mr. Graber currently serves as Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer of the Milwaukee based law firm of Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren. Previously, Mr. Graber served as Vice Chairman and Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago. Mr. Graber received his bachelor's degree from Duke University and his JD from Boston University.

The President intends to nominate Christopher A. Padilla, of the District of Columbia, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce (Export Administration). Mr. Padilla currently serves as Chief of Staff to Deputy Secretary of State Robert B. Zoellick. Prior to this, he served as Assistant United States Trade Representative for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Liaison. Mr. Padilla received his bachelor's and master's degrees from John Hopkins University.

The President intends to nominate Calvin L. Scovel, of Virginia, to be Inspector General at the Department of Transportation. Colonel Scovel currently serves as Senior Judge, United States Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals. Prior to this, he served as Chief Defense Counsel of the Marine Corps. Colonel Scovel received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina and JD from Duke University. He also received a master's degree from the Naval War College.
