Statement on House and Senate Resolutions

On Tuesday, November 22, 2005, the President signed into law:

H.R. 2490, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, as the Mayor Joseph S. Daddona Memorial Post Office;

H.R. 2862, the "Science, State, Justice, Commerce, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2006," which provides FY 2006 appropriations for the Departments of Commerce, Justice, State, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, and other agencies;

H.R. 3339, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located in Buffalo, New York, as the James T. Molloy Post Office Building;

S. 161, the "Northern Arizona Land Exchange and Verde River Basin Partnership Act of 2005," which authorizes the Department of Agriculture to exchange certain parcels of land in the State of Arizona and authorizes Federal Participation in the Verde River Basin Partnership;

S. 1234, the "Veterans Compensation Cost of Living Adjustment Act of 2005," which provides a cost-of-living increase for the beneficiaries of veterans' disability compensation and dependency and indemnity compensation;

S. 1713, the "Iran Nonproliferation Amendments Act of 2005," which amends the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000 to apply its provisions to Syria; broadens the Act to cover acquisitions from as well as transfers to Iran and Syria; and authorizes payments to Russian entities for certain work performed or services rendered related to the International Space Station; and

S. 1894, the "Fair Access Foster Care Act of 2005," which allows private for-profit agencies to receive Federal foster care maintenance payments.
