Satellite Technology Combats Crises
Fact of the Day

Satellite technology is being used to help identify humanitarian and environmental threats. In Africa, the images warn about crop shortages and potential famines. In Thailand, they are being used to prevent poaching and trafficking in wildlife. In China, these images are being used to monitor population growth and urban development. By sharing satellite images with other countries, the United States is helping the world better respond to a wide variety of threats.
