Tunisians Study U.S. Elections
Fact of the Day

Tunisians are closely following the American presidential election as they prepare for their own election next month. A group that included university students and the former head of a Tunisian political party gathered at the U.S. Embassy's American Center to watch and discuss the United States presidential debates. Another group of 30 journalism students participated in a roundtable discussion on the role of the media in elections. Embassy officials have also conducted a radio discussion on U.S. elections, and the American Center is sponsoring a weekly screening of election-related films. As a result, Tunisians are learning more about American politics and the democratic process.
