Nations Rally to Stop Trafficking
Fact of the Day

Bangladesh, Ecuador, Guyana, and Sierra Leone have taken major steps to fight human trafficking in the last few months. Earlier this year, these four nations did not meet minimum standards to protect their populations, but since the release of the United States' annual Trafficking in Persons Report each country has made progress. They have increased prosecution, created anti-trafficking police units, established new legislation, and waged public awareness campaigns. The international community is rallying against the practice of buying and selling people for various forms of modern day slavery.
