Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced that he intends to nominate B. Lynn Pascoe, of Virginia, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Indonesia. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ambassador Pascoe currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European Affairs at the State Department. Prior to that position, he was the Chief of Mission in Malaysia. Earlier in his career, Ambassador Pascoe served as Director of the American Institute in Taiwan. He has also served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the State Department. Ambassador Pascoe received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and his master's degree from Columbia University.

The President intends to designate Daniel B. Levin, of the District of Columbia, to be Acting Assistant Attorney General (Office of Legal Counsel).

The President has designated Timothy S. Bitsberger, of Massachusetts, to be Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury (Financial Markets).
