Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced that he has selected Brian H. Hook to be Special Assistant to the President for Policy. As a member of the Chief of Staff's Office, Mr. Hook is responsible for assisting in the coordination of policy development in the White House.
Mr. Hook previously served as Counsel in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice. Prior to that, he was an Associate with the Washington, D.C. based law firm of Hogan & Hartson, LLP. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hook worked as the Deputy Legislative Liaison for then-Governor Terry E. Branstad of Iowa, and as a Legislative Aide to Congressman James A. Leach.
Mr. Hook earned a law degree from the University of Iowa; a master's degree in Philosophy from Boston College; and a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
