Iraq Becoming a Market Economy
Iraq Fact of the Day

Iraq is creating a friendly environment for commerce and encouraging international firms to explore business opportunities there. Later this week, the U.S. Commerce Department will host a business conference for more than 200 American firms to encourage them to explore commercial and investment opportunities in liberated Iraq. Some ninety companies from Iraq, South Korea, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom will attend another business conference in April in Baghdad. New legislative, fiscal and monetary policies, including the dedication to fighting corruption, will help turn Iraq into a market economy.
