Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Rhonda Newman Keenum, of Mississippi, to be an Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Director General of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service. Ms. Keenum currently serves as Senior Vice President for Edelman Worldwide Public Relations. Previously she served as Director of the Victory 2000 National Surrogates Program for the Republican National Committee. Prior to this position, Ms. Keenum served as Vice President and Group Manager for Ketchum Worldwide. She earned her bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University.

The President intends to nominate David Campbell Mulford, of Illinois, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to India. Currently Dr. Mulford serves as Chairman International and Member of the Executive Board for Credit Suisse First Boston in London, England. He previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (Europe) for the same corporation. Prior to this position, Dr. Mulford served as Undersecretary for International Affairs for the Department of the Treasury, where he had earlier served as Assistant Secretary for International Affairs. Dr. Mulford earned his bachelor's degree from Lawrence University, his master's degree from Boston University and his Ph. D. from Oxford University.
