Global Message
From remarks by President Bush, Birmingham, Alabama 11/3/03
Some of the best of our great military service have fallen. We mourn every loss. We honor every name. We grieve with every family. And, we will always be grateful that liberty has found such brave defenders.
The enemy in Iraq believes America will run. That is why they are willing to kill innocent civilians, relief workers and Coalition troops. America will never run and we will do what is necessary to make our country more secure.
The terrorists and the killers and those who harbor terrorists cannot stand the thought of a free society in their midst.
A free Iraq will be a peaceful Iraq. A free and peaceful Iraq is important for the national security of America.
A free and peaceful Iraq will make it more likely that our children and grandchildren will be able to grow up without the horrors of September 11.
