Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and appoint one individual to serve in his administration:
The President intends to nominate April Hoxie Foley, of New York, to be First Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States for the remainder of a four-year term expiring January 20, 2005. Currently, Ms. Foley serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. She previously served as Director of Strategy for Reader's Digest Association, Inc. Prior to this position, Ms. Foley served as Director of Business Planning and Corporate Strategy for PepsiCo, Inc. She earned her bachelor's degree from Smith College, and her master's degree from Harvard University.
The President intends to nominate Gary Lee Visscher, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board for a five-year term. Mr. Visscher currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health Administration for the U.S. Department of Labor. Previously, he served as Vice President of Employee Relations for the American Iron and Steel Institute. Earlier in his career, Mr. Visscher was appointed to serve as a Member of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. He earned his bachelor's degree from Calvin College, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
The President intends to appoint William O. DeWitt, Jr., of Ohio, to be a Member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board for a two-year term.
