Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate and designate one individual to serve in his administration:
The President intends to nominate Daniel J. Bryant of Virginia, to be Assistant Attorney General (Legal Policy). In addition, the President intends to designate him to be Acting Assistant Attorney General (Legal Policy). Mr. Bryant currently serves as Counsel and Senior Advisor to the Attorney General. Previously he served as Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs. From July 1999 to February 2001, Mr. Bryant served as Majority Chief Counsel of the House Judiciary Committee's Crime Subcommittee. He previously served as Policy Director for the First Freedom Coalition while serving as a speech writer for Attorney General William Barr. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bryant served in the U.S. Senate on the Government Affairs Committee's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and held various positions within the U.S. Department of Justice. He earned his bachelor's degree and his J.D. from the American University. Mr. Bryant earned his master's degree from Oxford University.
