Statement by the Press Secretary

On Friday, December 6, 2002, the President signed into law:

S. 1240, which authorizes a land exchange in the State of Utah that will allow for Federal construction of an administrative and visitor center serving the Timpanogos Cave National Monument and the Uinta National Forest; also authorizes a grant to help fund a new facility for the University of Utah Museum of Natural History; and (3) adjusts the boundaries of the Salt River Bay National Historic Park in the U.S. Virgin Islands; and

S. 2237, the "Veterans Benefits Act of 2002", which expands eligibility and makes a number of changes to certain veterans' medical, disability compensation, burial, and housing benefits.
