Appointments and Nominations
President Bush Announced His Intention to Appoint Two Individuals and Nominate Five to Serve as Members of His Administration
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to appoint two individuals and nominate five to serve as members of his administration.
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC):
John Chambers of California and upon appointment designate Vice Chairman Mr. Chambers is currently the President & CEO of Cisco Systems.
Albert J. Edmonds of Virginia Mr. Edmonds is currently the President of US Government Solutions, EDS.
The President intends to nominate the following individuals to be Members of the Board of Directors of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation:
William Robert Timken, Jr. of Ohio, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 31, 2003, and upon confirmation designate as Chairman
Thomas Waters Grant of New York, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 31, 2002 and an additional term expiring December 31, 2005
Noe Hinojosa, Jr. of Texas, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 31, 2003
The President intends to nominate the following individual to be a Member of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board:
Terrence A. Duffy of Illinois, for the remainder of a four-year term expiring October 11, 2003, and an additional term expiring October 11, 2007
The President intends to nominate the following individual to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation:
Florentino Subia of Texas, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring July 13, 2004
