Nomination
President Bush to Nominate Saddler to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia

The President intends to nominate Fern Flanagan Saddler to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, for a term of fifteen years. She has been a Magistrate Judge in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia since February of 1991, most recently working in the Family Division. Ms. Saddler served as Acting Chief Deputy Clerk from 1990 to 1991, following two years as a Senior Staff Attorney in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She worked as an Assistant Bar Counsel to the Board on Professional Responsibility of the D.C. Court of Appeals from 1984 to 1987. Ms. Saddler was an associate with Mitchell, Shorter & Gartrell from 1979 to 1984. She earned a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College.
