Statement by the Press Secretary

On Monday, June 10, 2002, the President signed into law:

H.R. 3167, the "Gerald B. H. Solomon Freedom Consolidation Act of 2002," which reaffirms support for continued enlargement of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Alliance; designates Slovakia for participation in the Partnership for Peace program; and authorizes FY 2002 appropriations for security assistance for Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
