President Honors Fallen Peace Officers at Memorial Service
President George W. Bush addresses the 21st Annual Peace Officers Association Memorial Service at the United States Capitol Wednesday, May 15. "Today, and every May 15th, the American flag flies at half-staff in grateful memory -- in grateful memory -- of thousands of fallen police officers. This year we pay special homage to 480 men and women whose names are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial," said the President. White House photo by Tina Hager.
