Nominations
President Bush to Nominate Two Individuals to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Dennis P. Walsh to be a Member of the National Labor Relations Board for a term expiring December 16, 2004. Walsh has served as a member of the National Labor Relations Board since his appointment in December of 2000.  Prior to his appointment, Walsh was Chief Counsel to NLRB Board Member Wilma B. Liebman, and from 1994 to 1997, he was Chief Counsel to Member Margaret A. Browning.  He first served with the National Labor Relations Board from 1984 to 1987, as an attorney/advisor in the Office of Representation Appeals, staff counsel on the staff of Member Patricia Diaz Dennis and staff attorney in the Appellate Court Branch.  From 1987 to 1989, Walsh was a field attorney in the Board's Region 4 office in Philadelphia.  He is a graduate of Hamilton College and Cornell Law School.

The President intends to nominate Rebecca W. Watson to be Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Land and Mineral Management. She is presently a Partner with Gough, Shanahan, Johnson and Waterman in Helena, Montana, and from 1993 to 1995, she practiced law with Crowell and Moring in Washington, D.C.  From 1990 to 1993, Watson was Assistant General Counsel for Energy Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy.  She received her undergraduate, Master's and Law degrees from the University of Denver.
