President Bush to Nominate Fong to Serve as Under Secretary of the Army

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate Matt Fong to serve as Under Secretary of the Army. He is the founder and President of Strategic Advisory Group, and is of counsel to the law firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter, & Hampton. Fong has served in United States Air Force Reserves since 1980, following five years of active duty in the United States Air Force. As a Reserve officer, he has been the Chief for Budget and Congressional Analysis for the Pentagon since 2000. Fong was elected California State Treasurer in 1994, serving until 1999 and was appointed to the National Economic Growth & Tax Reform Commission by Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott in 1995. Mr. Fong earned his undergraduate degree at the United States Air Force Academy, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a J.D. from Southwestern School of Law.
