President Bush Nominates Johnson to Serve in His Administration
President George W. Bush today announced his nomination of one individual to serve in his administration.

The President nominated Stephen L. Johnson to be Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency for Toxic Substances.  He has served as Acting Administrator of the EPA's Office of Prevention, Pesticides, and Toxic Substances since January.  He has held a variety of positions at the Environmental Protection Agency including Deputy Director of the Office of Pesticide Programs from 1997 to 1999 and Executive Secretary of the Scientific Advisory Panel for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.  Prior to joining the EPA, he served as the Director of Operations at Hazelton Laboratories Corporation and Litton Bionetics Incorporated.  He is a graduate of Taylor University in Indiana and received a Master's from George Washington University.
