Colby J. Cooper
Acting Senior Director for Strategic Communications and Global Outreach, National Security Council
Colby currently serves as the Acting Senior Director for Strategic Communications and Global Outreach on the National Security Council (NSC) at The White House. He has also served as Director and Associate Director for Communications on the NSC staff. At the beginning of President Bushs first term, he served as an Executive Assistant to Dr. Condoleezza Rice while she was National Security Advisor. Prior to joining the White House, he was a Special Assistant to Lieutenant General Peter Kind, USA (Ret.) working on the U.S. governments Y2K preparedness and monitoring efforts.
Colby received his B.A. in International Relations from Bucknell University, where he was a two-time varsity football letter winner and named twice to the NCAAs Patriot League All-Academic Honor Roll. He was also a member of the U.S. Armys Reserve Officer Training Corps (R.O.T.C.).
He is married to Jaime (Lyon) Cooper from Mobile, Alabama, and resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
He is a native of Oxford, New York.
