Keith B. Hennessey
Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council
Keith Hennessey serves as Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council. In this role, he helps advise President Bush on a broad range of economic issues and coordinates the development of economic policy at the White House.
From August 2002 to November 2007, Hennessey was Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council under three Directors.
He worked for Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott from February 1997 to August 2002. Prior to joining Senator Lott, Hennessey worked as a health economist for the Senate Budget Committee and as a research assistant for the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform. Earlier in his career he designed and tested the database program Q&A for Symantec Corporation in Cupertino, California.
Hennessey holds a B.A.S. in Mathematics and Political Science from Stanford University and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard.
