          Vice President Honoring Veterans

Vice President Dick Cheney meets with Plank Owners of the USS Bashaw on Capitol Hill Friday, May 28, 2004. During the meeting the vice president honored the Plank Owners for their service in World War II. A Plank Owner is an individual who served as member of the crew of a ship when that ship was placed in commission. The submarine USS Bashaw, commissioned on October 25, 1943, engaged in six wartime patrols in the Pacific.
