Office of Personnel Management e-Government Specialists Receive Federal 100 Award

Washington, DC - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) this week announced that Federal Computer Week Magazine has named two OPM managers in its Office of e-Government Initiatives as recipients of their Federal 100 Awards. Rhonda Diaz, Project Manager for Enterprise Human Resource Integration (EHRI), and Larry Mercier, GoLearn Service Provider Business Development Director, are among the top executives from government, industry and academia who were recognized as having the greatest impact on the government information systems community in 2004.

“This is a proud moment for the members of Team OPM and a strong example of the level of excellence demonstrated by our employees here and across government,” stated OPM Acting Director Dan G. Blair. “I am glad Ms. Diaz and Mr. Mercier have received this special and deserved recognition. Their talent and achievements highlight the strength of OPM’s leadership role in e-Government.”

As project manager for OPM’s GoLearn Service Provider, works to make GoLearn the preferred provider of integrated, enterprise web technology-based Learning systems, and to deliver these products and services to government customers to help make their organizations more effective and efficient.

EHRI and E-Training are two of twenty-four e-Government initiatives outlined in the President’s Management Agenda, President George W. Bush’s strategy for making the federal government more focused on citizens and results. The projects are two of five e-Government initiatives managed by OPM.

Winners of the Federal 100 are nominated by Federal Computer Week readers and selected by an independent panel of judges for their contributions to the development, acquisition or management of federal information technology. The magazine will hold its 15th Anniversary Award Celebration on Wednesday, March 23, at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, Virginia.
