President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and appoint one individual to serve in his Administration.
The President intends to nominate G. David Banks, of Missouri, to be Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (International Activities). Mr. Banks currently serves as Senior Advisor for International Affairs and Climate Change at the Council on Environmental Quality. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Head of the Energy and Climate Change Unit at the United States Mission to the European Union. Earlier in his career, he served as an Economic and Legal Analyst for European Affairs at the Central Intelligence Agency. Mr. Banks received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Missouri and his JD from George Mason University.
The President intends to nominate David Kelly, of New York, to be Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at the Department of Transportation. Mr. Kelly currently serves as the Acting Administrator and Chief of Staff of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Government Affairs at the Department of Transportation. Earlier in his career, he served as the Director of the Air Bag & Seat Belt Campaign at the National Safety Council. Mr. Kelly received his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York and his MPA from Baruch College.
The President intends to appoint Brent R. Benjamin, of Missouri, to be a Member of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee (Museum), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring 04/25/11.
