Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and designate two individuals to serve in his Administration.

The President intends to nominate J.V. Schwan, of Virginia, to be a Commissioner of the United States International Trade Commission, for the remainder of a nine-year term expiring 06/16/17. Mr. Schwan currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Department of Commerce. Prior to this, he served as Senior Trade Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief of Staff and Counsel to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Market Access and Compliance. Mr. Schwan received his bachelor's degree from Presbyterian College and his JD from George Mason University School of Law.

The President intends to designate Shara L. Aranoff, of Maryland, to be Chairman of the United States International Trade Commission, for a two-year term.

The President intends to designate Daniel Pearson, of Minnesota, to be Vice Chairman of the United States International Trade Commission, for a two-year term.
