President Signs H.R. 409, H.R. 860, H.R. 1129, H.R. 3085, H.R. 5842, S. 101, S. 1140, and S. 4001

On Friday, December 1, 2006 the President signed into law:

H.R. 409, the "Sierra National Forest Land Exchange Act of 2006," which directs a land exchange in the Sierra National Forest in California; and reduces the authorization of appropriations for certain biomass grants authorized under the Energy Policy Act of 2005;

H.R. 860, which releases a U.S. reversionary interest in certain land used by the Clint Independent School District in Texas;

H.R. 1129, the "Pitkin County Land Exchange Act of 2006," which directs the Departments of Agriculture and the Interior to convey approximately 51 acres of Federal land in Pitkin County, Colorado, in exchange for approximately 53 acres of land owned by the County;

H.R. 3085, which directs the Department of the Interior to study the feasibility and suitability of designating several specified routes as new components of the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail;

H.R. 5842, the "Pueblo of Isleta Settlement and Natural Resources Restoration Act of 2006," which approves and ratifies a Settlement Agreement entered into by the Federal Government and the Pueblo of Isleta to resolve outstanding claims against the Federal Government;

S. 101, which authorizes the Department of the Interior to convey all right, title, and interest in certain land to the town of Frannie, Wyoming;

S. 1140, which designates the State Route 1 Bridge over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal in the State of Delaware as the Senator William V. Roth, Jr. Bridge;

S. 4001, the "New England Wilderness Act of 2006," which designates approximately 76,152 acres of Federal land in the States of New Hampshire and Vermont as wilderness; and designates approximately 15,857 acres of Federal land in the State of Vermont as a National Recreation Area.
