Statement by the Press Secretary

Presidential Emergency Board No. 238, established by President Bush to investigate and make recommendations for settlement of the dispute between the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and certain of its employees represented by the United Transportation Union, has submitted its report and recommendations to the President. The report indicates that the parties have reached an agreement, and the dispute is resolved. The President appreciates the Board's diligent work in this matter.

The National Mediation Board intends to make the text of the report available at www.nmb.gov.
