Iraqi Forces Uncover Huge Illegal Weapons Cache
Fact of the Day

The Iraqi Police and the Iraqi Intervention Force have uncovered hundreds of illegal weapons hidden in Muqtada al-Sadr's Najaf office. The cache - which included more than 10 mortar tubes, more than 145 mortar rounds, a dozen rockets, numerous anti-tank weapons, an anti-aircraft gun, automatic rifles, and explosives - was found Thursday in a secret hallway hidden behind a fake wall in al-Sadr's office. This kind of determination and resourcefulness shown by Iraqi security forces will ensure that democratic processes - not fear and brute force - reign supreme in the new Iraq.
