President Bush and Prime Minister Allawi Press Conference
President George W. Bush and Iraqi interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi hold a press conference in the Rose Garden Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004. During his address, President Bush listed some of the successes in Iraq, "Over 100 companies are now listed on the Iraqi stock exchange. And an average of five new companies are joining each week. Electricity has been restored above pre-war levels. Telephone service has increased dramatically. More than 2,000 schools have been renovated and millions of new textbooks have been distributed."
