Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and appoint three individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Ann R. Klee, of Virginia, to be Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (General Counsel). Ms. Klee currently serves as Counselor to the Secretary of the Department of the Interior. Prior to this position, she worked as Chief Counsel for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Ms. Klee previously served as Environmental Counsel to Senator Dirk Kempthorne. She earned her bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College and her Juris Doctors from the University of Pennsylvania.

The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the President's Council on Bioethics, for the remainder of a two-year term expiring January 15, 2006:

Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. of Maryland

Peter A. Lawler of Georgia

Diana J. Schaub of Maryland
