Statement by the Press Secretary
Visit of President Jose Maria Aznar of Spain

President Bush will welcome Spanish President Aznar to the White House for a meeting on January 14, 2004. The President and Mrs. Bush will also host a dinner in honor of President and Mrs. Aznar that evening. Spain stands among America's closest allies in the war on terrorism and the effort to bring peace and democracy to Iraq. Spain is a valuable member of NATO and proponent of close U.S.-European relations.
