Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to appoint one individual to serve in his administration:

The President intends to appoint Patrick Marshall Hughes, of Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary for Information Analysis, Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Hughes currently serves as a private consultant in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to this position, Mr. Hughes served for three and a half years as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency for the Defense Department. Earlier, he served as Director of Intelligence for the Joint Staff, Director of Intelligence for U.S. Central Command, and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Intelligence Agency. Mr. Hughes earned his bachelor's degree from Montana State University and his master's degree from Central Michigan University.
