Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and designate one individual to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Edward Baxter O'Donnell, of Tennessee, for the Rank of Ambassador during his tenure of service as Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues. Mr. O'Donnell currently serves as Director of the Department of State Liaison Office to the United States House of Representatives. He previously served as Principal Officer (Consul General) at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany. Prior to this position, Mr. O'Donnell served as Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary for Economic, Business, and Agricultural Affairs at the Department of State. He earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and his master's degree from American University.

The President intends to designate Rita E. Hauser, of New York, to be a Member of the Intelligence Oversight Board, a standing committee of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.
