Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and appoint six individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Ricardo S. Martinez, of Washington, to be a United States District Judge for the Western District of Washington.

The President intends to appoint Duane H. Laible, of Washington, to be a Member of the Artic Research Commission (Private Industry Representative), for the remainder of a four-year term expiring July 29, 2007.

The President intends to appoint Sandra O. Sieber, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Committee for Purchase from People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled (Department of the Army).

The President intends to appoint Peter Field, of Alabama, to be Federal Commissioner and Alternate Federal Commissioner, ACF Basin Commission (Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin Compact).

The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom:

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, of Colorado, for a one-year term expiring May 14, 2004.

Khaled Abou El Fadl, of California, for a two-year term expiring May 14, 2005.

Richard D. Land, of Tennessee, for a one-year term expiring May 14, 2004.
