Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Kerry N. Weems of Virginia, to be an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services (Management and Budget). Mr. Weems currently serves as acting Assistant Secretary of Health & Human Services (Management and Budget). He previously served at the Department as acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Budget, Director of the Division of Budget Policy (Execution and Management), Chief of the Budget Planning Branch, Program Analyst (Office of Budget), and as Program and Budget Analyst. Mr. Weems' service at the Department of Health and Human Services has earned him the Secretary's Distinguished Service Award and the HHS Senior Management Citation. Earlier in his career he served as a staff member for the United States Senate Appropriations Committee. Mr. Weems earned two bachelors' degrees from the New Mexico State University, and his master's degree from the University of New Mexico.
